Clint Krislov, Wilmette resident and well-known class action attorney, was recently honored as the recipient of the Canavan Research Illinois Humanitarian Award for his advocacy on behalf of the children battling Canavan disease; Krislov received his award at the 6th Annual Canavan Charity Ball, held Oct. 16th at the Deerfield Hyatt Hotel. Canavan is a rare fatal neurological disease that affects children.

After learning of the charity's desperate need for funds to continue to support an ongoing gene therapy trial, and of 7-year-old Buffalo Grove resident Max Randell's battle against this devastating disease, Krislov championed the charity to receive a generous "Cy Pres" (distribution of funds) donation.

Canavan Research Illinois is an all volunteer charity, founded by the Randell family to fund critical medical research. As Canavan serves as a model for other neurodegenerative diseases, the advancements against this disease offer hope to millions suffering from other diseases such as ALS, MS, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
